This is the kind of week it's been??? I swear one should never utter the words "What else could happen" because just as it leaves the lips something in the universe shouts out "hit 'em again they said the magic words"! And that my friends is what has happened at the Waldo Bar. We had a good old fashioned ass kick'n from life!
It started with Carla, shes our fill-in-go-to girl, she had an apartment fire : ( ! Then the very next day Denne, the Wed., Thur., Fri., day bartender had to send her beloved pooch Ru to the big Dogie Heaven in the sky : ( ! Then Thursday our Beer Cooler Compressor decided it just didn't like us anymore and shot craps & my Mom called to tell me that her dogs had decided to tango with a Raccoon and one got a pretty good sized gash on her leg from a bad bite and the other one would have been dead if not for her dog collar saving her from that bad Raccoon grabbing her by the throat and trying to rip her throat open (yikes) : ( ! and if that wasn't enough to put us in the ditch, our good friend Meghan from Waldo Pizza had to send her beloved pooch Mandy Pander to meet Ru in Dogie Heaven : ( !
I learned around Tuesday it's better to not ask why, or that other thing I will never say again........
Fires, Dogs in Heaven, Raccoons and Lots of money spent have taught me one thing! U Gotta Have Friends! We at Hannibal's Waldo Bar are blessed by our friendships, when things go a little kookie we get behind one another, patrons + employees + Moms and Dads + bar owners all alike, we ask what we can do to help each other out. That's What I'm Talk'n Bout!
So when life trys to throw you under the bus, my word of advice is: Take A Friend With You, just like Mom always said two is always better then one : ) !
